Regulations

FTL Member Regulations Page

Cathay 767-300ER Departing LHR

Please read the following information carefully as it holds details of what you as a member must follow in order to have the most real Flight Simualtion Experience ever!

Teamspeak

I.P for TS is flythelimit.com
TS is a voice client to aid communication between players.

Whilst you are logged on to TS treat other members as you would like to be treated yourself.
Push to talk is the preferred way and not voice activation.
Treat others with respect and common courtesy, foul language etc, is not allowed, remember not everyone has a headset and players could be in their living room with family members present listening in.
Use the correct channels prior to what you are doing e.g:- Free flying, ATC, etc.

If you are an experienced simmer then we will let you loose within FTL and join in the fun.

If you are new to Flight Sim, we will buddy you up with a competent member who we feel you will relate to, so they can show you the ropes.
Once you are registered you will be issued with an FTL number which you are required to display at all times with your proper first name. e.g FTL562 - Simon.
In the lounge there is a link to a chit chat server. Use this to talk about other things, occasionally Admin will be in here and meetings could be taking place.
Do not ask for SA CA etc.

If you do not comply with all the rules you could find yourself losing your registration or even being banned from FTL.

Routers and Firewalls

If you are using a Firewall or Router, you'll need to configure it so that it allows certain ports to pass through to the multiplayer server.

Use this port checker first to see if you can connect http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/FSPortTest.exe, once you have completed the test follow the important instructions it tells you.

Make sure windows firewall is turned off.
You must comply to these rules or it will affect other members and yourself by not being able to connect.
Error "Unable to connect to all players"?
This error will show if "YOU" or another player are using a Router and you have not opened the correct Ports for the Game.

Again check here for your port test http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/FSPortTest.exe

When your FS2004 tries to join, it receives a list of all the players currently in the session and tries to connect to them. But when it tries to connect to a player with an incorrectly configured Router, it isn't able to communicate with them, so FS2004 aborts the connection. Unfortunately there's not an easy way of figuring out which player is causing the problem.

All Players running behind a Router or firewall are required to be configured correctly.

Players need to configure their Routers so that the Ports are forwarded or "open" to the machine running FS2004.

You can go to this website for more info www.portforward.com

We use the defaults Ports (UDP 23456) and other ports listed below for add on software.

If things still aren't working, try also forwarding UDP 6073 and the range of UDP 2300 to 2400, since these are the DirectX "alternate" ports, which are sometimes used when the host is using something other than 23456.

Sometimes enabling or disabling UPnP (Universal Plug-n-Play) can help.

Players with DSL Modems have A Router / Firewall Built into them.

You will need to call your DSL Provider to properly open Ports.

PORTS TO OPEN: FS2004/FSX.
GAME 23456-23460 Entire Range & 6073 protocol set to both.
GAME 2300-2400 Entire Range & 47624 protocol set to both.
FS Navigator Port 23432 protocol set to both.
Team Speak Port 8777 TCP Port.

Or if you enable your DMZ this will open all ports on your Network.
Read below to create a static IP.
Networks have there own internal IP addresses such as example 192.168.1.1.

To open Ports or DMZ you will need to create a Static Network IP address on the computer that you use for Flight Sim. Most computers are set to change that IP Automatically. By creating a Static IP it will stay the same all the time, so you can open Ports or Enable DMZ to that IP Address. This will allow the Ports to stay open all of the time.

I recommend that you contact your Router Manufacturer customer support to configure your Static IP.
Also make sure you have the latest version of Direct x version 9.0 or higher.

Multiplayer

Set your Frame Rates to 20 in your Flight Sim. There will be a conflict with the multiplayer server otherwise.
I.P is flythelimit.com for the multiplayer session.
You are required to display your FTL number in the multiplayer session like this FTL562
You may load up or spawn on parking or gates, freefly, fly the hoplist, use FS Nav etc.
Do not spawn onto the active runway.
Do not collide with other players.
Do not use the multiplayer chatbox for constant chat use TS instead.
Before you line up for take off please check the runway is clear.
250 KIAS max below FL100 (10000 ft).

If you want to fly with FSX then you can download the latest FSHost client from here,

Follow the instructions in the read me file and you will be able to connect directly with FSX to our multiplayer servers.

ATC

ATC flights will be posted in the events page on the website with times when the sessions are to start. Prior to the start, planning will take place in the lounge, once this has commenced all pilots will file their flightplan in the chat box, then will move into the ATC channel.

Your first transmission will be e.g:- "FTL123 flightplan filed".

In ATC channels, all talk will be ATC transmissions, NO CHIT CHAT in here.

If the session has started and you want to listen please feel free to come into the channel but please be quiet. If you disrupt the session you will be kicked from the channel. If you are a registered member and you disrupt the session you could have your registration removed or as a last resort be banned from FTL.
These regulations are for the benefit of everybody at FTL, but above all go and have fun, talk to one another we are all learning from each other, go and fly the limit.

Thank you for taking time to read the regulations and on behalf of FTLvAA we wish you all a pleasant flying experience!
